Cold Spray - What is it?
We take Metal powder and shoot it at supersonic speeds to create metal objects. Key differentiating factor for cold spray it can:
1) Bond different metals together that typically cannot be alloyed as it does not melt metal but uses kinetic energy to force metal atoms together inside their lattice structure
2) Deposit material up to 18 kg an hour resulting in very fast production
The advantage of this approach is that it uses less energy than almost all other forms of manufacturing which translates into lower cost production.
